Class & Club News:

Do you want to experiment with different art techniques?  You can learn to make a piggy bank; you can paint a picture or draw.  Let your creative go wild.  Come out to the Open Studio during after school program on Monday and Wednesdays from 3:15-5:00 in N305 (Ms. Ertel’s class). 

Sports News:

Any students interested in playing football next season, we will be starting our 10-week strength and conditioning program on Monday, February 11.   Any athlete wishing to participate in football next season JV and Varsity is highly encouraged to attend.  The program will run Monday – Thursday, 3:30 – 5:00.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get a hold of Coach Earls or me.

If you are wanting to play a spring sport.  Please pick up your paperwork in the 9th grade office, return your packet to Mrs. Vasquez in the morning only.  She will have your clearance ready after school if it’s all filled out correctly. Please do not come during class time.  If you are transitioning from a winter sport to a spring sport and need your clearance, sign up on the clipboard in the 9th grade office in the 9th grade office in the morning and your clearance will be ready at the end of the day.  Thank you.

Administrative Team:

PDA – Students are reminded that Public Displays of Affection are not appropriate for school.  Please be respectful of those you care about and not let this problem grown to the point of having your parents contacted or discipline assigned. 

Excessive Trash – Trash at lunch, both on campus and in town, has become a problem again and we have heard complaints from staff and community members.  Please put your trash in the appropriate trashcans and show CHS and Coalinga what proud Toads you can be. 

Counselors Corner:

Juniors: If you are interested in taking the SAT’s in March, sign up for the SAT Workshop in the counseling office. 

West Hills College is offering free Dual Enrollment classes for all CHS students.  If interested in getting ahead on college credit, check your school email or talk to Miss Lopez for more information.    

Toads don’t forget to wear college, career, or military gear on Wednesdays.  Go Wednesdays! 

If you are interested in the military after high school.  Sign-up in the counseling office to speak to a representative.
