CLASS & CLUB NEWS

CHS is looking for the most talented people on campus to perform in the league talent show. You will perform at all five league schools and have the chance to earn the title of the most talented act in the league. If you are interested, see Mrs. Bonilla in room N310 to pick up an application. Applications are due January 18th.

WINTER HOMECOMING ON FEB. 2ND. THEME IS “FAIRY TALE FANTASY.”

Attention Seniors: Cap an Gown and graduation announcement orders will be accepted on January 17th in your Government/Econ classes.  A deposit or payment in full is required to place an order.  Ordering information packets will be available in your government classes and are available in the Office.

 

 

The band is seeking 4-6 new people for our color guard. The color guard uses implements (flags, rifles, sabers and letters) to paint a visual picture of what the band is playing. This spring, we plan to attend our first band review in almost 30 years. We plan on a new look and direction. We are also making long-term plans for the guard’s future. Come make friends and be in events that you will remember for a long time! Please see Mr. Moore in the music building for more details.

 

SPORTS NEWS

 

It is that time of year again.  Swimming is starting for those who are not in a winter sport for conditioning.  Practice will be at 3:30-5:15 at the swim complex.  You need to have your clearance paperwork turned in.  Mandatory practice will begin on Monday January 22nd.  Be ready to get in the water.

 

“Coalinga High Track and Field team will have a Mandatory Meeting on Monday January 22 at 3:25pm inside the Main Gym Foyer. Winter sport athletes can attend the meeting as it will be brief but must return to their practices or tutorials quickly. Anyone who wants to join track that is not involved in a winter sport must get their clearance paperwork taken care of from January 16th until the first official practice Which will be Tuesday January 23rd and starts at 3:25pm at the track. The deadline to join the track team will be February 5th for athletes not competing in a winter sport. Winter sports athletes will have 1 week to join the team when their official season has ended. Come out and join the Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls 5 time league champs”
