Class & Club News:
Saturday School will be held Saturday 10/13 at Huron Middle School multipurpose room and Coalinga High School cafeteria.
VIDA meeting today at lunch in room #128. Officers will be nominated and selected. Bring your lunch.
Want to go to college for free? Sign up to take English 1A online. This class will transfer to a four-year university. The tuition is free, the book is free and you earn credit for high school and college. The class runs for 9 weeks and begins Oct. 15th. See Mrs. Bonilla for details.
Minimum Day Schedule on Friday 10/12 school will dismiss at 1:30.
The next three Thursdays we will have spirit dress up days to promote National Bullying Prevention month. This Thursday October 11, is Blackout Bullying Day. Wear all black to support the anti-bullying movement.
Need community service hours? Keck Park is running 2 events that they need help with. One is Pumpkin Carving on Oct. 18th and the Halloween Carnival on Oct. 25th. See Mrs. Bonilla to sign up and get more details.
Boys Soccer – Attention anyone interested in playing boys soccer conditioning starts at 3:45 at the old middle school field on Monday 10/15. You must have your clearance at that time to participate. Coach will issue a bus pass for those riding the bus.
Anyone interested in playing basketball, that is not currently playing a sport, there is a mandatory meeting on Monday 10/22 at 3:30 in the small gym. Clearances are due at that time.
Softball workouts will begin on 10/16 at the Varsity softball field. Workouts will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm – 5:30pm. You must have your sports clearance in order to participate. If you are not currently playing a sport, it is highly encouraged that you attend these workouts. Contact Coach Brazelton or Coach Cleveland if you have any questions.
The Career Tech Expo is coming up again! We will be taking a bus of students to Fresno on Oct. 17th. If you are interested in attending sign up in the Counseling Office.
Have you ever thought about a career in the Military? Sign up in the Counseling office to meet with a representative.
Every Wednesday wear college, career, or military clothes to show your support for Wear Will You Go Wednesdays! Throughout the year, there will be various contests and prizes, so participation counts. Your 5th period teacher will keep track.
9th Grade Students! Are you the first in your family planning to attend college? If so, and you would like to get a head start on college classes and planning for your future please come see Ms. Wise in the Freshman Office for information on how to apply for the Upward program at West Hills College.
