CLASS & CLUB NEWS

 

Ms. Cooley’s afterschool cooking class is canceled for today.

 

Don’t be a dead-beat this Halloween — raise someone’s spirits with a BOO GRAM. Send your favorite people a fun greeting and a treat for just $1 each. See a CSF member or visit our table in the North Wing quad during lunch! Sale ends Thursday.

 

VIDA meets today in Mrs. Vega’s room (#128) during lunch! Everyone is welcome to join 🙂

 


 

FROM THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE

Check your Aeries attendance portal daily.  See teachers as soon as possible for absence corrections.  Teachers only have 3 days to correct absences so make sure you follow up quickly.  See Mrs. Yeager in the Attendance Office if you have any questions.

 


FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE

Attention 9th grade students and Link Crew Leaders:  Sign up in the Freshman Office to join us for a movie and snacks on Monday, October 30 in room 128.

 

“CHS has different military representatives coming to our campus this year.  If you want to speak to a specific branch, like the Marines, Navy, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, or any branch in general, please come into the Counseling office and sign up.”

 

Volunteers are needed for the ELKS haunted house on October 27-29, 2017.   See Mrs. Ryan in the Counseling Office for more information.

 

Our Fresno State Ambassador will start coming to CHS.  If you are interested in applying or learning more information about Fresno State please stop by the counseling office and sign up to see him.

 

Coalinga High School will have a Fresno Pacific University Representative come to our campus on

Tuesday, November 7th.  If you are interested in learning more about Fresno Pacific University, stop by the Counseling Office and sign up to see him.

Students you are required to have your school ID in your possession at all times.

 

Beginning November 1st, students driving vehicles to school may only park in the North Lot between Baker Campus and the Pool Complex.  You may no longer park in the East Lot, Gym/Hub Lot, or along Sunset or Van Ness Streets. Yellow painted curbs are for loading and unloading only.  Green painted curbs are 15 minute parking only.  Staff are to park in the East Lot and Gym/Hub Lot. Student parking will require parking passes.  Meetings will be held soon to review the requirements to obtain a parking pass such as license number, driver’s license, proof of insurance, parent permission, etc.  Staff parking permits will be discussed soon.

 

Students are not to hang out in the halls before school, during lunch, or after school. No food or  drinks are allowed as you move in the halls to your classes. Access to Counseling and Library are through the doors leading to the middle hallway and is not allowed from the outside doors.

 


SPORTS NEWS

Mandatory Girls Basketball practices begin Monday October 30th! Unless you are in a fall sport, you have to be cleared by that date!

 

Mandatory Boys and Girls Wrestling practices begin Monday October 30th! Unless you are in a fall sport, you have to be cleared by that date! If you have any questions regards wrestling see Coach Gonzalez in room 126.

 

Attention all boys interested in trying out for the varsity basketball team, there will be a mandatory meeting at lunch on Thursday 10/26 in Coach Earls room P1.  The meeting will start promptly at 12:40, so don’t be late.  Please check with Coach McFarlin if you have any questions.
