CLASS & CLUB NEWS

In the spirit of our game against Avenal this week.  Tomorrow will be “Wounded Pirate” dress-up day and Friday will be Orange and Black.  A scared Buccaneer will also be making its appearance in several classrooms this week.  Take a picture with it and send it to CHS Instagram page. Thank you.  

Homecoming guest pass permission slips may be picked up in the main office.

FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE

Are you taking the SAT this Saturday and need a calculator?  You have until this Friday at lunch to sign up in the counseling office and reserve one.  Limited amount available, first come, first served.  

If you would like to attend the Career Tech Expo in Fresno on October 16th, please sign up using the link that Mrs. Wagner emailed you.  The first 100 students to sign up will get to go. If you are on the inactivity list for discipline, you will not be able to attend. The deadline to sign up is October 9th.

Are you interested in the military, after graduating high school?  Sign up in the counseling office to speak with a representative.  

Community Service Opportunities with the Coalinga – Huron Recreation Department on October 29 and Dec. 5. For more information, contact the department at 935-0727 or jroderick@chrpd.org.

Are you interested in helping to create the YEARBOOK?  Please join Mrs. Ruona after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 20 from 3:15-5:00pm.  We are looking for fun, creative and hardworking students to put together the 2020 yearbook.  Can’t wait to see you there!!

 Students, please be careful when walking to and from school.  Obey the rules of the road as a pedestrian. Use nearest crosswalks, do not wear noise-cancelling headphones, and do not text while crossing the roads.  Inattention by pedestrians and drivers alike can be deadly.

SPORTS NEWS

All Soccer boys conditioning will start on Monday, October 7th at 3:30.  Meet in the Boys locker room.  

Anyone interested in Boys or Girls Basketball, Wrestling, or Boys or Girls Soccer make sure you get your clearance packet completed and turned in to the 9th grade counseling office.
