CLASS & CLUB NEWS

 

Are you looking for adventure?  Join us in Costa Rica Next summer in 2019!

 

Mrs. Lucero will be leading a group through tropical rain forests, zip lining, exploring volcanoes, and so much more!  Don’t miss this chance of a lifetime.  Stop by Mrs. Lucero’s room for more info, or come to a meeting to get more details Next Thursday, May 17th at 6pm.

 

FCA meeting during lunch in the Home Ec. room.  Lunch will be provided.

 

Attention all seniors – Want to stand out in the crowd at graduation – then come to after school program Caps & Cookies to decorate your mortarboard.  Materials will be provided or bring your own. Room 9 beginning Monday May 14th and running through Thursday May 17th.

 

Community service opportunity for students.

 

You may work at the Fun Run May 19th at CMS.  Sign up for community service hours in Mrs. Bonilla’s room.

DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS:

 

LADIES…YOU WILL BE DRESS CODED FOR TOPS THAT REVEAL YOUR MIDRIFF AS WELL AS BLOUSES THAT ARE WORN OFF THE SHOULDER WITHOUT A TWO INCH STRAP UNDERNEATH.  STAY SCHOOL APPROPRIATE PLEASE.

 

FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE

 

Students;  If you are interested in learning more about the military, there will be a luncheon on Wednesday, May 23, during lunch, in the library.  The Army will be giving out general information, answering any questions you may have, and will even provide lunch for those who attend.  If you are interested, sign up in the Counseling Office.

 

Have you been or are currently in the Migrant program and plan to attend West Hills College? Apply for their CAMP program. Please contact Ms. Fernandez for more information.

 

Attention Seniors:  There are many local scholarships available this month. Be sure to check the scholarship bulletin.  It is available in the Counseling Office and on the CHS website.  Ms. Fernandez also e-mailed you a copy.

 

 

SPORTS NEWS

 

ALL ATHLETES:

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON PLAYING A FALL SPORT IN THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR, PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT YOUR END OF THIS YEAR’S JUNE GRADES WILL REFLECT YOUR ELIGIBILITY FOR NEXT FALL.  MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A 2.0 WITH NO MORE THAN ONE F.

 

Attention all runners interested in joining the Cross-Country team next year.  We will be having a meeting on Thursday May 17 after school in Coach McFarlin’s room.  It is important for you to be there.  Bus passes will be provided for those that need them.  Coach will also be hosting practices for spring training this week after school for all returning runners.

Faculty/Staff

**Teachers:  There is a change to how you   record tardies/absences for late students for periods 1 and 6.  Starting today, any student

 

period 6 must be swept.  If the student comes to you with a sweep, you are to mark the student TARDY no matter how late that student arrives to class.  If the student comes to class without a sweep, you must send the student to the main office to receive a sweep.  Mark all students “T” for periods 1 and 6, REGARDLESS of how late they arrive.  Please see admin or Ms. Saldana if you have questions.  Thanks!
