Career Technical Education

Career Technical Education (CTE) is defined by the CA Department of Education as: “A program of study that involves a multiyear sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers.” Coalinga High School is committed to giving students the best CTE experience possible by providing them with the opportunity to develop their interests and skill sets through our diverse and rigorous CTE/ROP program. Many of our CTE classes are part of the Fresno Regional Occupational Program (ROP). This partnership empowers students by allowing them additional educational opportunities such as internships, work experience, industry certifications, and more!

The CTE/ROP Department at CHS is focused on preparing students for career pathways in the global marketplace by offering experiential learning and industry certifications. Coalinga High School offers nine career pathways, consisting of nineteen courses. Department Vision:

We will prepare students for career pathways in the global marketplace by offering experiential learning and industry certifications.  Students will gain technical and high-level academic skills, equipping them to be lifelong learners.
